The Heritage on Wheels train is a wonderful way to explore the royal heritage of Rajasthan. It is the next big attraction for foreign tourists after the Palace on Wheels. The unique thing about the Heritage on Wheels train is that it lets the visitors explore the less frequented regions of Rajasthan such as Shekhawati and Bikaner. The true beauty of Rajasthan comes alive only from traveling in the Heritage on Wheels train. All the royal luxuries that one can dream of are available on board the train.
The itinerary of the Heritage on Wheels is of four days and three nights and the places that the guests get to visit include Jaipur, Bikaner, Haat, Gajner, Tal, Chhapar, Ramgarh, Nawalgarh, and Mandawa. The Heritage on Wheels train starts from Jaipur on every Tuesday and Friday and ends in Jaipur on the fourth day of the journey. Guests have to check in at 18.30 hrs on board and the train then leaves for Bikaner. Guests are served dinner on board.
Once in Bikaner, the first thing to visit is the Jain Temple and after that, guests head for the Havelis that are the hallmarks of Rajasthan royalty. After the sightseeing in the Havelis of Bikaner, the next destination is the fort. The fort is one of the exquisite tourists attractions in Bikaner and is the epitome of the royal heritage of Rajasthan. The other important sightseeing in Bikaner includes camel farm, Lalgargh Palace, Gajner and shopping in the colorful markets. Thus, the second day of the journey is for sightseeing in Bikaner.
On the third day, there is sightseeing in Chhapar and Shekhawati. The main attractions on the second day include Black Buck and Crane Sanctuary, Mehnsar sightseeing, sightseeing in Mandawa and Nawalgarh. Tal Chhapar and Shekhawati are famous for their artistic touch and the frescoes here come as a great relief for the eyes among the arid landscape of the land.
